Oriental Medicine is both a science and an art. The theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine that underlie Oriental Medicine comprise the science while the application of these theories to the dynamic entity, that is the constantly changing individual, is the art. Oriental Medicine works at various levels. One can treat purely at a symptomatic level, however, this does not address the root cause of the problem and so symptoms often return. One can also treat at the level of syndromes, which more closely addresses the root of the problem and so has longer lasting effects. But treatment at the level of the individual, however, is the most effective as it addresses constitutional as well as conditional manifestations, lifestyle factors, and dynamic personality types.
Meridian Therapeutics believes that health is a manifestation of balance, both within the body itself and between the body and the external environment. When the body is internally balanced it is in harmony with the external environment, and thus Qi (energy) flows smoothly throughout to nourish all organs and tissues. When the body is imbalanced or in a state of disharmony, there will be discomfort and illness. By adjusting and stimulating the flow of Qi through Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Massage, we stimulate the body's own natural healing ability to maintain health and protect against disease.
Meridian Therapeutics will strive to provide our patients with best professional healthcare as possible. We will treat all patients and the community with dignity, respect, and compassion as if each were a part of our family. We will keep each patient informed and involved during the entire healing process so that they may understand the interrelationship between our treatments and their health. And since all medical concerns have root causes and branch symptoms, we will work to alleviate the branch symptoms, but at the same time work to resolve the root causes so that your health is completely restored. Lastly, we will promote preventative medicine as well as regular enhancing treatments so that patients are able to maintain their health and wellbeing all year long.
